Ben Gusto Cafe in Howick

Went for brunch. Great coffee, the big breakfast looked standard on reading but each element was delicious and well executed! We had the French toast gluten free which turned out great as well. Keep up the great food!

Exactly what I would expect from cafe breakfast. All day breakfast and a lunch menu so there were plenty of options. They have gluten free and vegetarian options. Food and drink was good. We got the Amzy Breakfast, Eggs Benedict with bacon and a soy flat white. The food was good, the sausages were tasty and everything was well cooked. However, the tomato was a bit mushy, the hollandaise has an interesting and weak taste and the bacon was flavourless. They have a big selection of waffles that I’d be keen to try.We wanted to order a smoothie but they said they use syrups rather than fruit except some have banana in them. They have indoor and outdoor covered seating. We used an entertainment voucher which received a discount on the bill. Even without a discount the prices are super reasonable.

I ordered the omelette which was terrible. Completely flavourless. One thin slice of shaved ham, too much tomato and topped with balsamic vinegar. And it tasted like the eggs were from from a powdered packet. Ordered the waffles and they were marginally better.

We did not have a pleasant experience. We ordered omelettes and it was extremely oily. Most of my fillings weren't in, I only had ham, no cheese, no feta, no tomato or anything. It was not full of flavour.

we had the hot cakes here- which were delicious! My only complaint is that the gelato was a bit potent in flavor but that’s a matter of preference 👍🏻 The price is fine for the quality and presentation of the food

Went for an early lunch, great milkshake and got the prawn twisters and spring rolls. Huge portion size for $15, tasty too. Saw the burgers and waffles come out of the kitchen and will be back to try them as they looked good, especially the waffles. Good customer service and vibe.

Good coffee and liked the food.Average waffled, Cookies and create gellato, didn't taste like cookies and cream, so maybe try a different flavour.

I really enjoyed the waffles - they were delicious! However, in my experience the customer service is somewhat lacking.

Really nice place. They have a great variety on the menu, including a large range of types of waffles, and their coffee is great. They've also got a really nice outdoor area, and their customer service is really excellent too. I'll definitely be back for more.

Ordered Eggs Benedict (with Bacon), their big breakfast and a soy flat white. There's nice out doors (sheltered) seating and plenty of seating options inside. The food itself is what you would expect from a cafe. The bacon however was quite flavorless which is a shame as it was cooked well. The hash browns were very tasty. The hollandaise sauce tasted quite odd, almost a bit too sour - it just had an element to it which made it quite over-powering. The cheese filled sausages were divine. Coffee was good and as expected. Plenty of different menu options to cater for most people's food interests. Overall just an as expected from a cafe experience, decent prices too.

Great staff, fast service, the food was top notch. I had the bacon and grilled banana waffles. Sir had the calamari salad. They were both delicious and really enjoyable. (Who knew you could grill a banana with the skin on and then eat it! Definitely not me, consider me enlightened) Will definitely be back and will be telling my friends and family about this place. Great variety on the menu.
